2026 TASTINGS
Friday 27th March -'Posh Wines'
7:00pm - 8.30pm
£40 per person
'Drink less, drink better' is a message that your doctor will approve of. And it's definitely one we can get behind (though 'Drink the same, but better' works even better for us).
But how much better can you get? That's what we're going to explore with this tasting. We'll be cracking open some seriously posh bottles. The kind of thing that most of us are unlikely to indulge in except, perhaps, for the most special of special occasions. There will be famous names, prestigious regions with international name recognition, and more quality than you can shake a stick at. The Old World, unsurprisingly, will be well represented, but lovers of New World wines won't be forgotten either.
NB: No physical tickets will be sent out. Your name will be added to the event guest list held at the store.
*Tasting tickets are non-refundable, transferable up to 14 days prior to the event.

Across ten carefully chosen beers, we’ll explore style, technique, and flavour—from subtle, sessionable drinkers to bolder, characterful brews—each selected to highlight what makes modern beer so compelling. Expect a relaxed, informative evening, with plenty of opportunity to compare notes, ask questions, and discover new favourites.

Focussing on the big three of South American wine making, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, we'll taste our way through a cross-section of the vibrant and distinctive wines being produced by some of their very best producers.

Definitely one to sign up early for - this always sells out quickly.
A celebration of how the classic British fish & chips is raised up to another level when paired with sparkling wine.
We'll be tasting three world class white sparklers, and three fantastic examples of pink fizz. To add to the fun we'll taste them blind, so our impressions aren't swayed by any 'big names'. After a vote to find the favourite wines of the night we'll be cracking open some bottles of the winners while we tuck in to our fish & chips from the always excellent Dovehouse Fish Bar

Friday 5th June - The Essential 8 Red Grape Varieties
7:00pm - 8:30pm
£20 per person
From light, subtle reds to the deepest, most structured heavyweights, the world’s great red wines are built on a handful of classic grape varieties. In this tasting we’ll explore the eight most important red grapes—the ones that define regions, shape styles, and underpin the bottles most of us reach for again and again.
Across eight wines, we’ll dive into what makes each variety tick: its signature flavours, the regions where it shines brightest, and how winemakers coax out such different personalities from the same fruit. Expect a tour through the Old World and New, from elegant, perfumed styles to bold, full‑bodied expressions—each chosen to showcase the grape at its best.
Whether you’re looking to sharpen your palate, understand your own preferences, or simply enjoy a relaxed evening of great wine, this is a brilliant foundation for anyone who loves red.
