France is a winemaking juggernaut, there's no denying that. Along with Spain and Italy, they regularly top the list of the world's biggest wine producers. Their most famous wine regions, such as Bordeaux or the Rhone, are household names. But France also offers a dazzling, sometimes bewildering, array of fascinating wines from regions that are much less well known.
Join us for a whistlestop tour around France trying whites, reds (and maybe even a rosé) from some of France's best hidden nooks and crannies.

According to the Met Office the astronomical autumn kicks off on Sunday 22nd September this year. Which seems like the perfect time to blow the dust off the red wines that have taken something of a backseat over the summer as crisp whites and refreshing rosés ruled the roost.
We will taste our way through the eight red wines that have most caught our eye and made us look forward to the season of falling leaves and darker evenings.

If you have ever found yourself wondering what this difference is between Tawny and Ruby Port, unsure of how Single Quinta Ports differ from Vintage ones, or simply curious about how White Port taste. here's a chance to scratch that itch.
Tasting eight different Ports side by side we'll explore the full range of the wines from this world famous region.

When we ran this tasting last Christmas it proved so popular that we had to include a new version in this year's calendar.
Christmas holds a special place in many people's hearts. For some it's because of the celebration of Christ's birth. Others treasure the chance for family to get together. But here at Vine & Bine it has to be the sheer number of drinking opportunities it affords that most endears us.
Something to wash down some mince pies - it's drinkies time. That glass of Sherry (or whisky - whatever your family tradition dictates) left on the mantelpiece needs drinking so the kiddies know Santa dropped by. If you need something warming to keep out the winter chill then a wee tipple sounds in order. Cooking the turkey without a revivifying glass of Bucks Fizz to hand? Unthinkable! And Christmas dinner itself definitely demands a bottle or two of something special. The list goes on.
We'll be enjoying a smogasbord of the drinks on our shelves that strike us as being just perfect to feature at some point in your Christmas Day.
What will we be tasting? Fizz, wine, cocktails, after-dinner drinks? Who knows (but yes, yes to all of those), there's only one way to find out.

2025 TASTINGS

Sure, we're a day out but we're sure that Mr Burn's won't mind. We'll be celebrating the birth of the Ayrshire bard by tasting our way through 6 delicious whiskies. Mostly from Scotland but there's always the chance of a tasty outsider or two being slipped in.
