Friday 19th June - The Essential 8 White Grape Varieties SOLD OUT

Crisp, lush, aromatic, textured, or mineral—white wines offer extraordinary diversity, and it all starts with the grape. In this tasting we’ll explore eight essential white varieties, each chosen for its global significance and stylistic range.

From the steely precision of Riesling to the creamy depth of Chardonnay, we’ll taste our way through benchmark examples that highlight what each grape does best. Expect a mix of classic regions and modern interpretations, with wines that span the spectrum from bone-dry to richly textured.

This is a brilliant tasting for anyone curious about white wine—whether you’re a Sauvignon Blanc loyalist, a Chenin enthusiast, or just keen to understand what makes these grapes so versatile and expressive.

Gin, the quintessentially British spirit - but what's the story behind its success?

The simple name disguises the huge range of styles of gin, from the bright and citrussy, through to complex, spicy, herbal gins, and everywhere in-between.  This tasting will explore the history and variety of gin, as well as showcasing its versatility with a couple of cheeky cocktails.

We're welcoming back guest speaker, Johnny Bingham, whose previous sell-out tastings have all been big hits.  But in the unlikely event you need more details than that...

Great wine is made in all sorts of places but there's no doubt some of the most intriguing involve some form of altitude.  Whether it's vertiginous slopes like those of the Mosel Valley, or the lofty Andean vineyards of Argentina, extreme conditions often produce the most in intriguing wines.

This tasting will be an exploration of a cross-section of these wines from around the globe ranging from fresh delicate Italian whites to powerful Argentinean reds.
