We're welcoming back guest speaker, Johnny Bingham, whose previous sell-out tastings have all been big hits. But in the unlikely event you need more details than that...
Great wine is made in all sorts of places but there's no doubt some of the most intriguing involve some form of altitude. Whether it's vertiginous slopes like those of the Mosel Valley, or the lofty Andean vineyards of Argentina, extreme conditions often produce the most in intriguing wines.
This tasting will be an exploration of a cross-section of these wines from around the globe ranging from fresh delicate Italian whites to powerful Argentinean reds.

It was probably the Irish who made the first whisky, just beating out the Scots. But today it's Scotland that the world associates with whisky.
Over the course of the evening, and eight whiskies, we'll explore whether this is fair. Or if, maybe, whisky every bit as good can be found from all corners of the globe.

We are delighted that we are being joined by Clemence Fabre of Famille Fabre wines for this tasting. Clemence will be giving us an insider's insight into the estate and their wines.
With records stretching back to 1605,the Fabres have been making wine in the Languedoc for over 15 generations. Over the centuries their hard work, along some well chosen marriages, have seen their holdings expand, adding some fantastic properties along the way. This gives them access to a wide range of terroirs and varieties, which translates to an equally wide variety of wines.
Historical pedigree, however, has not stiffled innovation. Famille Fabre started the move to organic farming back in 1991, and nowadays all their vineyards are certified organic. They also hold HEV3 status, France's highest environmental certification.
This tasting will cover the whole gamut of their output with sparkling, white, rose and red wines all making an appearance.

For those of you who don't already know, Midland Press are our very own, bona fide, local winery, tucked away in the heart of Digbeth.
Founded in 2024 by wine visionary Richard Stenton, Midland Press takes advantage of the growing array of vineyards springing up across the country. After the harvest these growers sometimes find themselves with parcels of fantastic grapes that they don't have a home for, which is were Midland Press come in.
From his base in a Digbeth railway arch (a surprisingly good place for a winery) Richard crafts the wines he wants to make, taking advantage of the best grapes he comes across.
Richard will be joining us to talk us through his current line-up, as well as sharing how he came to be making wine in such glamorous surroundings. Not to mention sharing his insider knowledge on how the 2026 vintage is shaping up.
