With spring still seeming disappointingly far off we thought we would lean into the season and sample some delicious wines that are just right for the chillier weather.
Join us for a tasting that will be focussing on the rich and warming end of the wine spectrum. There will be a few powerful, rich whites, but the reds will be the stars of the show.

With mainland France alone spanning the best part of 1000km North to South (975km if you're being picky), and almost as far East to West (910km for the sake of completeness) it's hardly surprising that someone, somewhere in France is making just the sort of wine you love.
With this tasting we'll take a whistle-stop tour around France enjoying wines from all corners of the country. While we will only be able to take in a fraction of the huge range of styles France has to offer there will still be something for everyone. Big name regions will be appearing side by side with some of the less well known gems that France has to offer.

Eastern Europe has a winemaking pedigree stretching back into the depths of pre-history. The greats of Greek and Roman literature, such as Homer and Pliny, celebrated their wines. It can't be a coincidence that there are legends placing the birthplaces of Bacchus and Dionysus in what is now Eastern Europe.
However the twentieth century was a hard time for their wine industries. The fall of the Iron Curtain brought the wine industry to its knees. But wine has deep roots in these countries and dedicated wine-lovers have been restoring their heritage over the past few decades. We are now benefitting from their years of work, with world class wines being produced all across Eastern Europe.
This tasting will be a chance to get a snapshot of what's available. Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania will be front and centre, but Georgia and others will be making an appearance to.

Friday 27th March -'Posh Wines'

£40 per person
'Drink less, drink better' is a message that your doctor will approve of. And it's definitely one we can get behind (though 'Drink the same, but better' works even better for us).
But how much better can you get? That's what we're going to explore with this tasting. We'll be cracking open some seriously posh bottles. The kind of thing that most of us are unlikely to indulge in except, perhaps, for the most special of special occassions. There will be famous names, prestigious regions with international name recognition, and more quality than you can shake a stick at. The Old World, unsurprisingly, will be well represented, but lovers of New World wines won't be forgotten either.
