Bodega Urqo El Mirador Chardonnay / 2023 / 75cl

A small, quality‑driven project from the Uco Valley, Bodega Urqo works with high‑altitude fruit and low‑intervention methods to capture the clarity and tension that the region’s vineyards naturally give. El Mirador is sourced from organically farmed parcels around 1,200m, fermented in a mix of stainless steel and concrete to keep the profile clean, then matured briefly on fine lees for texture without dulling the fruit. The approach is deliberately restrained: cool harvesting, gentle pressing, and no oak, allowing the site to speak in a crisp, mineral register.

The wine follows through exactly as intended. It opens with bright lemon peel, white peach, and a flicker of saline freshness, underpinned by that high‑altitude snap of acidity. The palate is sleek and linear, carrying citrus and orchard fruit with a subtle creamy edge from the lees, finishing with a chalky lift that feels very Uco Valley. It’s a precise, quietly expressive Chardonnay that trades heaviness for purity and drive.
