Château Haut-Bergey is a dynamic estate in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, known for its commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. With roots tracing back to the 15th century, the property was revitalized in the 1990s by the Garcin family, transforming it into one of the appellation’s most progressive producers. Today, under the stewardship of Paul Garcin, Haut-Bergey crafts expressive red and white wines that emphasize purity, terroir, and finesse. The estate’s gravel soils and diverse vineyard parcels contribute to wines that are both vibrant and deeply reflective of their origin.
A quietly confident vintage that balances ripeness with restraint. The nose opens with smoky graphite, ripe blackcurrant, and a flicker of crushed herbs—classic Graves minerality wrapped in polished fruit. On the palate, it’s supple and medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins framing notes of plum, cedar, and a touch of dark chocolate. The oak is more subtle than in previous years, allowing the purity of fruit and terroir to shine through. A gentle lift of acidity carries the finish, leaving behind echoes of earth and spice.
