Domaine Huet Vouvray Clos du Bourg / 2011 / 75cl
A long‑established benchmark for Vouvray, Domaine Huet has been shaping the region’s reputation since 1928, with biodynamic farming becoming central to its approach from the early 1990s onward. Clos du Bourg—Huet’s oldest and most revered vineyard—sits on a thin skin of clay over limestone and consistently delivers the domaine’s most intense, tightly focused expression of Chenin. Its walled, plateau‑top position gives the wines a natural sense of drive and mineral clarity, qualities that show particularly well in the cooler, finely balanced 2011 vintage.
The wine opens with restrained aromas of quince, pear skin, honeycomb and chalk, edged by gentle lanolin and a touch of spice. The palate is concentrated but lifted, carrying ripe orchard fruit along a taut, precise line of acidity that keeps everything bright and composed. A subtle sweetness is present but wrapped in minerality rather than weight, finishing long, clean and quietly powerful. A graceful, well‑defined Clos du Bourg that shows depth without sacrificing precision.
