Domaine Jean Perrier et Fils Chignin Bergeron / 2024 / 75cl
Domaine Jean Perrier et Fils is one of Savoie’s benchmark family estates, rooted in the village of St‑André‑les‑Marches at the foot of the Chartreuse mountains. The Perrier family has been working these slopes since the mid‑19th century, steadily expanding from a handful of parcels to one of the region’s most respected growers. Their reputation rests on an ability to express Savoie’s alpine character with clarity: clean fruit, precise winemaking, and a deep understanding of the steep, stony terroirs that define the area.
Their Chignin Bergeron, made from 100% Roussanne, shows exactly why the style has become a quiet insider favourite. The wine opens with ripe stone‑fruit aromas—peach, apricot and a touch of nectarine—lifted by gentle floral notes and a hint of honeyed almond. On the palate it’s rounded and supple, carrying the natural richness of Roussanne but balanced by the brisk mountain freshness that keeps everything lively. The fruit remains generous without tipping into heaviness, and a subtle herbal edge and light minerality give the wine shape and definition. It finishes clean and persistent, with soft fruit and a faint nuttiness lingering.
