Foursquare Exceptional Cask Series Mandamus / 70cl

Fresh from being named the International Spirits Challenge's 'Rum Producer of the Year' for the 10th consecutive year, Fousquare proudly unveils its latest expression, a testament to the distillery's unwavering pursuit of rum excellence.

We are delighted to introduce Foursquare Mandamus (Mark XXIX), that latest addition to Foursquare's acclaimed Exceptional Cask Selection series.  This limited-edition release is a masterful Single Blended Rum, crafted from both pot and column still distillates and aged for 16 years in a dual maturation of 10 years in ex-Bourbon casks followed by 6 years in ex-Tawny Port casks.  Presented at 57% ABV, non-chill filtered and free from sweeteners and colourings, Mandamus stands out as a true expression of authenticity and balance.

What sets Mandamus apart is its rich Port Cask influence, a hallmark that first captivated Foursquare enthusiasts back in 2014.  This release revisits that beloved style, offering a luxurious, jammy depth of flavour with layers of dark fruits, caramel, nuts, and subtle spice.  It's a rum that speaks to both Foursquare's heritage and its innovative spirit, bridging tradition with continued exploration.

Nose - A rich rush of blackberries, ripe pineapple, tart plum and cherries.  Lots of sultanas, vanilla caramel, along with hints of ginger, hazel nuts, walnuts and blackcurrant vines.

Palate - Soft and sweet onto the palate, lots of juicy ripe black cherries, raspberries and victoria plums.  More sultanas and a hint of zesty orange.

Finish - Bitter chocolate and black tea.  White pepper and a hint of chilli pepper warmth in the long lasting, toasty, gently smokey, oaky grip.
