Morvenna Spiced Rum comes from the Cornish Distilling Company, a small but technically ambitious operation based near Bude. They’re one of the few UK producers making rum entirely from scratch—fermenting, distilling, and spicing on site rather than importing neutral base spirit. That grain‑to‑glass ethos gives their range a distinctive character: a slightly drier, more structured backbone than many Caribbean‑sourced spiced rums, with a clear sense of craft rather than confection. The name “Morvenna” nods to local folklore and the rugged North Cornwall coastline that shapes the distillery’s identity.

In the glass, the rum opens with warm baking‑spice aromatics—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg—lifted by orange peel and a gentle vanilla sweetness. The palate is supple but not syrupy, carrying those spices into a rounded core of caramelised sugar, toasted oak, and a subtle herbal edge that keeps everything in balance. A flicker of ginger heat brightens the finish, leaving a clean, warming impression rather than a sticky one.
