Rippa Dorii Crianza 2022 shows impressive purity and lift from its 100% Tinta del País grown around Fuentecén at 900m, where stone, clay and white‑limestone soils and 25‑year‑old vines give naturally small, concentrated berries. The slower ripening from the highest, coolest plots brings a poised aromatic profile of bramble fruit, blueberry and blackberry, layered with vanilla, nutmeg and sweet spice from its 12 months in mixed French and American oak. The careful pre‑fermentation maceration at 10ºC, long 18‑day fermentation with pump‑overs, and malolactic split between tank and barrel all contribute to a wine that feels both expressive and finely shaped.

The palate is rich yet controlled, carrying ripe dark fruit wrapped in supple, well‑integrated tannins. Oak influence is polished rather than dominant, adding warmth, structure and a gentle sweetness of spice without obscuring the fruit. There’s a pleasing sense of depth from the varied toast levels of the French barrels and a subtle creaminess from the American component, finishing with good length and a clean, mineral edge that reflects its high‑altitude origins.
