Tenuta Olim Bauda is a historic Barbera specialist in the heart of Asti, today run by siblings Dino, Diana and Gianni Bertolino, who revived the estate in 2000 after it had lain dormant for 15 years. Their vineyards—among the warmest sites in Asti—have been farmed organically since 2018 and certified since 2022, with rigorous green harvesting and hand‑selection ensuring only perfectly ripe Barbera reaches the cellar. The La Villa cuvée comes from the Bauda vineyard, harvested in early October and vinified traditionally: 12 days’ maceration and fermentation in stainless steel, with temperatures kept below 30°C to preserve fruit purity. 

The 2024 Barbera d’Asti La Villa shows a deep, bright ruby‑red colour and an expressive nose of cherry and mixed berry fruit, edged with gentle spice. The palate is generous, full‑bodied and concentrated, yet lifted by Barbera’s natural acidity, giving the wine both richness and drive. The finish is long, smooth and enticing, making this a polished, fruit‑forward expression of organically farmed Barbera from one of Asti’s most characterful family estates.
